Squamish is a Community of approximately 15000 people nestled among majestic mountains at the end of beautiful Howe Sound, centrally located between Vancouver and Whistler.

The name Squamish means "Mother of the Wind" in the Coast Salish language.

Coming into Squamish on your right you will see Shannon Falls, this is the third largest waterfall in Canada.

Picturesque Mount Garibaldi looks down upon the town from the northeast, it is approximately 8300 feet in altitude. Looking south from our town we see "The Chief" this is the second largest granite formation in the world, the Rock of Gibralter being first. Rock climbing in the area has always been a popular sport and visitors and locals stand in awe watching the climbers scaling the face of the Chief.

General Amenities 32 Bed General Hospital plus Extended Care Facility, 6 Elementary Schools, 2 Secondary, Capilano College and a proposed Private University by Year 2002. 9 Churches, Recreation Center, Indoor Aquatic Center, skating rink, baseball and soccer fields.
